MAKING CITY COUNCILS STRONGER
The Northeast Ohio City Council Association serves it’s member cities through providing Federal and State legislative updates, training and forums. Our goal is to strengthen and educate our city governments.
What We Do
Here are a few of the important services that we provide to our member cities and council members.
Cross Community Communication
We facilitate communication among elected municipal, township and village council members in an effort to strengthen our communities.
We provide opportunities for council members to receive important information about local, state and federal issues that affect them through a variety of educational seminars.
Local Issue Forums
Every community is unique, but we all share common issues and challenges. We host forums to discuss local issues to help better inform decisions that impact our communities.
NOCCA is governed by an executive board of directors that is comprised of five officers (president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, past president), and seven at-large members.
The officers and seven at-large members are elected at the annual meeting in the first quarter of each year. They shall take office at once and serve for one year or until their successors have been duly elected and qualified. The president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary shall serve not more than two years in succession in their respective office. Officers of the Association must be active members of the organization. Not more than one representative from each municipality shall serve as an officer or member of the executive board at the same time.
